3D Systems’ Clear Materials

3D Systems has a range of clear, transparent and translucent plastics for their MJP and SLA printer systems.

With these plastics, it is easy to achieve optical clarity for a variety of applications, fast, and at a great cost saving for prototype and low to medium production runs of end use parts.

Achieving transparent 3D printed parts can be challenging if you don’t have the right materials and technology, but the value and versatility of clear parts makes finding the right materials a hurdle worth vaulting to address your customers’ advanced applications.

In this article we will take a look at a few of the clear plastic options available from 3D Systems.

Clear MJP Materials

MultiJet Printing (MJP) technology produces high fidelity, accurate parts in a variety of transparent and translucent materials. The range of clear MJP materials includes solutions for enhanced toughness, high flex, and high temperature applications.

Clear parts can be further enhanced with post processing such as sanding. vapor blasting, and even tinting.

VisiJet Armor (M2G-CL) (MJP) is a tough, ABS-like clear plastic which exhibits an exceptional mix of tensile strength and flex. Versatile across a wide range of applications.

Accura ClearVue

Transparent & polycarbonate-like

Accura ClearVue (SLA) is a super high clarity plastic with excellent humidity and moisture resistance for a multitude of applications where transparency is key. Accura ClearVue (SLA) enables the printing of high quality products such as headlamps, complex assemblies or fluid flow demonstrators. It simulates the properties of ABS and polycarbonate. Accura ClearVue is also capable of meeting USP Class VI requirements for biocompatibility.

This Stereolithography resin is fine-tuned for use with the following 3D Systems SLA printers: ProX 950, ProX 800, ProJet 7000 HD, ProJet 6000 HD, SLA 750.
